May Day Parade
Started in 2009, the Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre (RICC) May Day Parade is growing in abundance each year. Celebrating growth and development in the community and bidding an official farewell to Winter, the parade gives local groups and organisations a chance to showcase their talents and services. Over the years we have had a few famous faces take part in our parade including top Irish DJ Ray Shah and top Irish band Jody Has A Hitlist. RICC is delighted to host this annual event as it brings the entire community together as we proudly march through the streets of Ringsend and Irishtown, before we head back to the centre for a day of live music, refreshments and plenty of entertainment. It is clear on the smiling faces of young and old that this event has become the place to be each May Day. The RICC May Day Parade takes place on the May Bank Holiday Monday at 2pm-6pm each year and it’s all free! We always welcome new additions to take part so if you would like to get involved please contact Lorraine or Barbara in the centre on 01 6604789.
Santa Clause Visit
What would Christmas at RICC be without a visit from the man in red? RICC are delighted to welcome Santa Claus to the centre each year to visit the children of the area and pop a little present in their stocking. Don’t be surprised to see him arriving via police car or horse and cart as he likes to make a stir in the community! Check our website in the run up to Christmas to find out when he’ll be here waiting to greet you in his special RICC grotto.
